HRMC in the Top Tier of Top Performers Nationwide
Whynotthebest.org provides a Top Performers list of the top 1% of hospitals across the country on a particular quality performance measure. The Top performers list is updated quarterly. Ranked #1 in the nation for the 2nd Quarter 2009, HRMC is currently ranked #3 in the country among all hospitals with a quality score of 99.69%. According to HRMC President & CEO Gene C. Milton, FACHE, The first six months of 2009 has been a very busy time for all of us. During this period, HRMC's quality of care measurements continued to increase and patient satisfaction scores improved for inpatient and outpatient services. I have personally received a number of letters and communications praising staff and physicians for their personal care and compassion. Patients are also impressed with the level of service and technology available here. I am very proud of our ranking by the Commonwealth Fund on the Whynotthebest.org website. Whynotthebest.org includes performance data reported publicly on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Web site, Hospital Compare. The site includes performance data for nearly every hospital in the nation, over 4,500 institutions that report data to Hospital Compare. | Quality Counts at HRMC | | For over a year now, HRMC has shared with you our quality measure scores. We are extremely proud of the commitment to quality by every staff member at the Medical Center to achieve such high numbers. It takes an entire team, not just any one individual, to make quality a priority. Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Quarter 2009 scores are further proof of that commitment. | | Notes: Congratulations to all staff for continuing to provide exceptional care based on best practice guidelines. #of patients = Number of patient charts that were selected to measure against the best care standards. SCORE % = How we did overall with each patient, ensuring we met their best care needs for each indicator. Represents the composite score for each core measure. | | | .jpg) | | |

Quality is more than just a word. Quality is a way of life ---a choice you make. 2008 CORE MEASURE COMPOSITE SCORES Hackettstown Regional Medical Center has finished 2008 with Core Measure scores that will be in the top 10% in the country as a result of the diligence of all departments and staff. That means we gave our patients all the care elements they were entitled to nearly 100% of the time. It also is a reflection that our hospital follows "Best Practice" guidelines which are supported by The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. | Source: New Jersey 2008 Hospital Performance Report: A Consumer's Report.
