 HRMC Emergency Medical Services
Now Provides Patient Transportation

Hackettstown Regional Medical Center recently obtained its license from the State of New Jersey as a provider of patient transportation. Officially named Hackettstown Regional Medical Center Emergency Medical Services Inc, the new HRMC transport provider offers two types of transportation for patients:

  • Ambulance transportation to and from the Medical Center
  • Van transportation for medical appointments to and from the Joan Knechel Cancer Center and the Wound Healing Center.

The new service features three ambulance vehicles and one wheel-chair accessible van. With nearly 25 years of experience in operating and managing ambulance services, Gene Gast will lead the new service as Director of Hackettstown Regional Medical Center Emergency Management Services, Inc.

Residents of assisted living facilities and nursing homes who need to be sent to the Medical Center by ambulance and HRMC patients that need to be transferred by ambulance to other specialty facilities (e.g., inpatient rehab, tertiary hospitals, etc.) may now travel by HRMC EMS.

Also, any patient having difficulty getting to either the Joan Knechel Cancer Center or the HRMC Wound Healing Center may ask to have these Centers schedule outpatient pick-up and drop-off times with the HRMC EMS van service.

According to Gene Gast, This new EMS transport service helps to address a long time need in Warren and western Morris Countiessimply there isnt enough transportation options for people in our area. The van will be a huge benefit to anyone in need to get to either the Joan Knechel Cancer Center or the Wound Healing Center.

HRMC President & CEO Gene C. Milton, FACHE, adds, Hackettstown Regional Medical Center will no longer need to rely on transport ambulances from other hospitals. We have been able to hire some of the best, most experienced clinical professionals in the area to operate our vehicles.
